The idea of Olympism refers in its symbolic layer to the five elements. Fire symbolizes action, will, energy, while water symbolizes spirituality, emotions and purification. Only the combination of these seemingly contradictory values creates unity, like the combination of mind and heart. The Olympic fire is a symbol of purity, truth, knowledge and solidarity.

The European Games 2023 are twelve days of sporting competition at the highest European level. Athletes will compete at facilities in Krakow, Krynica-Zdrój, Tarnów and Zakopane.
