The logo of the European Games Krakow - Małopolska 2023 was presented

It was an important moment during the preparations for the European Games Krakow - Małopolska 2023. The year before the event, the Games logo was presented for the first time. The ceremony took place at the Marshal's Office of the Małopolska Region in Kraków.

The IE 2023 logotype consists of a flame pictogram, full name and date. The pictogram contains - combined in a uniform graphic form - the color and formal symbols of the city and the region. The unity of Krakow as part of Małopolska is symbolized by the towers of St. Mary's Basilica against the backdrop of the snowy peaks of the Tatra Mountains.

The color of Krakow is blue, while the coat of arms and the flag of Małopolska are white, yellow and red. The interpenetration of individual color layers creates a coherent whole and refers to the leading slogan of IE 2023 - Unity.

− The idea of Olympism relates to the five elements. Therefore, the IE 2023 logo refers to water and fire. Fire symbolizes action, will, energy, while water symbolizes spirituality, emotions and purification. Only the combination of these seemingly contradictory values creates unity. Like a combination of mind and heart. The Olympic fire is a symbol of purity, truth, knowledge and solidarity − explained Marcin Salawa, the designer of the logo.

The event was attended by:
– Marshal of the Małopolska Voivodeship Witold Kozłowski
– Marcin Nowak, President of the Organizing Committee
– Vice-president of the Organizing Committee Janusz Kozioł
– Vice-president of the Organizing Committee Michał Langer
– Logo designer Marcin Salawa
− Today is a joyful day because we can present the logo of the Games for the first time. Personally, I like it very much, for which I thank the author. We have reached the point where we basically have made a decision area that requires a lot of effort by many people. I hope that together we will make every effort to ensure that everyone who comes to us, leave happy. That Małopolska would be associated with hospitality and kindness. Because good will is in Małopolska − said the Marshal of the Małopolska Province, Witold Kozłowski.
The President of the Organizing Committee, Marcin Nowak, emphasized the importance of the event. − The European Games will be hosted in a European Union country for the first time and it is of great importance to us, especially in the current geopolitical situation. Two difficult years with a pandemic are behind us, so the more we want to present Poland as a country ready to receive fans from all over Europe and the world. The Games are a great way to prove that Poland is a friendly and safe place for everyone − said Nowak.
The European Games Krakow Małopolska 2023 will be held at the turn of June and July next year. The hosts of the event will be the city of Krakow and the Małopolska Region.
